Perhaps it is the most important application for weather forecasters because from the ensembles you can see not only the prediction of a model,
but how likely is this to happen. More members converge on a forecast, the greater is the possibility of verifying the prediction.
Meteoguru presents you with a completely dynamic way the ensembles GFS model for the whole planet to one degree analysis,
for the variables of temperature to 850hpa and the surface precipitation. You can select the point of interest either with coordinates,
or graphically or by typing in your area that it concerns you. Passing the mouse over the diagram you can see the values of each member for the temperature to 850hpa
and the precipitation for the selected time. Also passing the mouse on the bottom you can isolate the run that you are interested in or you can remove members.
The diagram is depicted in detail (every 6 hours) and the average value of temperature in 850hpa for the 30 years from 1970 to 2000
The model gfs runs 20 members and three additional members including the main run , the average number of members, and control run.
The update is 4 times in 24 hours and is available immediately after the run of the model.
